The Writing Life

Writing is an experience with a number of aspects It is a skill, a fun, a mode of expression, a pastime, a profession also, and more.Though every aspect of writing holds its importance, the most vital one is the fact writing is a means of actualising one's potential. Writing makes a writer strong; it makes one see his/her own power and its most meaningful application. A writer expresses him/herself not only for catharsis but also for bringing out situations that are important to understand. And as these lacunae in human understanding are filled little by little, we begin to see clearly where we have been, where we are, and where we are heading. Hence a writing life is comparable to a comprehension-compass by means of which man positions himself towards a better understanding of existence and therefore a clearer view of our way through life. This figure is compared and evaluated by reading other figures of different sorts, so that one comes to know one's self through words, one's own or of others. Keener the quest for knowing ourselves better, higher the enthusiasm for writing ourselves down. Writing as a Profession: One need not mention that writing requires understanding and this implies a superiority of mind. A professional writer has a dual committment with his/her job: He /she writes because that is required of him/her, and he/she writes because he/she can.

People who can write are those who know how to view a topic, how to present a situation. And this is enough to show that they have eyes. So a...
