The War Within
Inside a war rages on, but neither side can win.
Fought so long without a hope, this secret war within.
The war inside me wages on, it seems it will never end.
The ceaseless cold, the endless rain, will never stop again. I begin to wonder if I will ever see the light again.
The war inside consumes us all, this endless war within.
The tortures that we've all suffered fuel the cry of war.
How much pain and grief and sorrow do we have to endure? As the haze of war at last is lifted, my mind is finally rested. My life is ending, I'm leaving now, and my life has been ultimately tested. As I leave remember me and all the places I've been, I'm not talking about the space outside, but the endless war within. Ricky Schimka 12/17/03
