War Iraq
In this article I will try to exam the reasons that lead the Bush administration to order the US invasion and the war in Iraq, the events prior to the invasion and the current situation in the region.
In order to understand the reason we should look first into past relationship between the US, Iraq and its neighboring states. We will also look into correlations between the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the American-Iraqi conflict in post-war days. For conclusion, we will use the information given here to try and understand of what lies ahead in regards to the Iranian pursuit of nuclear capability and what the US is willing to do in order to eliminate the issue.
Many theories exist in which the war against Iraq is being explained and justified. Several elements are in the mix as oil, terrorism and totalitarian governments, as well the common thought, of hatred to the west and chaos ruling the region, among the American general public in regards to the Middle East and the events occurring there, yet this war can be explain as a result of the hard line and direction chosen by the current administration led by President George W. Bush as a government who believes in Realism, and implement that practice in their foreign affairs policies.
It is best known as the Bush doctrine.
In short, the doctrine explains the need for military force in order to fight terrorism and ensure the well being of the American nation and its allies. In order to understand the roots of that doctrine, we must look into the history first.
The history of the US and Iraq dates back to the 1980. Jimmie Carter was in office at the time and there was just a social revolution in Iraq’s neighboring state, Iran, where Islamic fundamentalists had overthrown the government and took hostages in the US consulate.
