University Entrance Essay
Based on: Please write a personal essay explaining the Admission Committee more about yourself.
I grew up as a rebellious adolescent because I never included myself in social activities that some of my friends and their friends had. Most of the time, I thought they secluded me out of their "social group". At home, the computer, my stuffed animals, and the freshly new novels I checked out from the library, were my friends. The novels that I relished were R.L. Stine's Fear Street collection, Lois Duncan's Mystery Books, and J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter masterpieces. I despised love stories where boy meets girl, but "oh no" there's a tragedy, and then they live happily ever after. I didn't believe in love, and if there was such thing, I didn't want to be anywhere near it.
One day, I rushed to the school library to take hold of a book for silent reading in English class. Even though I was in a rush, I wanted to check out a good, solid reading material. Of the five minutes I had before the bell rang for the next class, I couldn't find anything that appealed to me. The librarian saw my frustratingly behavior attributable to the grunting sounds I was making along because of my binders in my hand and my backpack that I felt like a weary donkey. She came up to me and asked the mutual question that every librarian asks: "May I help you choose a novel?" On account of wasting time, I directly said yes.
I regretted it. The nice, sweet librarian placed Nicholas Spark's "A Walk To Remember" in my already occupied hands. Observing the cover with a couple pasted on it, I bickered silently, but obeyed because of the time.
