Troubles Of School

Addie was a meek and shy girl; constantly caught up in the daze of high school madness. She always strived for exceptional grades and obtaining the perfect G.P.A. People perceived Addie as the typical ‘geek’ arriving to class promptly after the prior class was over, making her Friday night’s intense study sessions. Yet behind her exterior there was a side unknown to most. Addie was a borderline professional salsa dancer. When the announcement for the senior talent show echoed through the halls of Riverdale High, Addie realizes this is her time to shine. Nothing or anyone will stand in the way for her to prove herself; well, maybe one thing. The talent show is couples only. Who will be the mystery man Addie chooses to shake and shimmy with on stage?


From the moment the music begins, something inside of her explodes; unleashing emotions that intensify with each step. Movements flow through her like a free stream searching its way to the bottom on the mountain. It’s a part of her, unable to control herself as the music fills the room with soul and rhythm.
But this was a side of Addie that was kept in the darkness; mysterious to the all people she shares life with.

Minutes before the bell rings dismissing Addie from her AP physics class, she slowly begins to shove papers into her overflowing binder, drops her textbooks into the large compartment on her backpack, with her iPod she was set, ready to race out. The school bells rings; brrriiinnnng brriinngggg; initiating the madness that explodes through the halls. The empty hallways begin to fill with wondrous students, gossip filling the air, rumors spread like disease, and the latest answers of Mr. Caliper’s pop quiz being exchanged for the information about who broke up with whom. Unlike every other person that crowed those claustrophobic hallways, Addie walked through the halls as if she were on a mission; leaving Advanced Placement Physics promptly as the bell rings, heading straight for...
