Integrating a merger between two companies can be complicated, especially when competition and rivalry are seen in a diverse workplace that has been combined. “The rapid pace of organizational change and the need for people to network together” (Tabbron, et al.., 1997, p. 4) bring new techniques and ideas. Deciphering what is best for the company through analysis and job performance studies takes time. Training and mentoring play a hand on how successful a corporation will be. Once personnel have the required tools of the company, measuring the individual’s performance and delivery methods is necessary to determine if the person understood the objectives that were presented during this phase.
After the presented material at training has been heard, setting goals will allow the worker to set sights on what needs to be accomplished. Knowing timelines for products to be distributed will allow the customers to receive what was ordered on the given date, creating customer satisfaction. Evaluating each individual on the work that is done and giving the person feedback will reinforce positive behavior. For employees who have difficulty or are in need of further development receive additional coaching, workshops, seminars, or team training.
