Surviving College Life

The transition from a high school senior to a college freshman is difficult because of financial difficulty, harder academic, and friendless. First of all, students in college are always concerned about their finances and their everyday expenses. Textbooks, school supplies, and all activities put pressure on students. For example, textbooks in college are expensive, and it costs them over hundred dollars just for one book. There is no way for many families to cover the cost with savings. Expenses in school motivate many students in college to go out and find a job. Working and studying often conflict with each other. Between college and work, college students have a hard time concentrating in school. Lack of finances will cause their education to be awful, and it can harm their study. Secondly, getting good grades also is a hard process for many students. College students say that the desire get a good grade influences them to attend all of their classes regularly. There are many reasons why they should attend all of their classes. Attending class regularly helps students to absorb classroom material, and they can earn attendance points. Each college student has the same goal. They come to class, do homework, quizzes, and tests just because their grades motivate them to do so. Classes in college are not easy like in junior high or middle school, and there are a lot more different and harder. In order to get a good grade force student to study hard, so they can get a grade that they always desire. Lastly, the first year in college is also a new challenge to freshman student that they have to get through. New environment, friends, and way of teaching can depress student. Upon graduating from high school, a student has a lot of friends to hang out with. However, in college they mostly spend time alone, and they are afraid to meet new people.
