Should Parents Be Responsible ?

Should The Parents Be Held Responsible?
Being a parent is anything but easy. Parents nowadays face a lot of issues, and with so many distractions in their lives, sometimes they don’t spend as much time as they should with their children, but does that mean that they are not good parents and they should be held responsible for each and every action their child might take?   In the article “The Sin of the Parents” The author Ellen Goodman discusses the   case of More Precisely thirty-seven year old mother of three who became the first person accused under a new California law that holds parents responsible when their kids go bad. Ms. Precisely is charged with “failing to exercise reasonable care, supervision, protection and control of a child. The child in question is seventeen years old male who is being accused of raping a twelve year old girl (P.363) the new law holds the parents responsible for their children illegal actions. I personally don’t think parents should be held responsible for their children illegal actions.
The first reason why I don’t support this law is because I don’t think it’s fair. Everyone should be held responsible for his or her own actions, and children are no exception. I believe that this law will help make children care less because in the back of their minds they are always going to thik that they can get away with whatever they do. Even if the children are young, they should be punished in a way that suits them. Because if they don’t get punished and feel how being punished feels, they will never realize the mistakes they have done or the pain they have caused, and therefore they will never stop misbehaving. Why would they stop if someone else is going to be punished?
The second reason why I don’t support this law is I believe that this law can do more harm than good. Let’s say a mother has more than one child and one of her children...
