Setting Goals

DigiFast
Memorandum

To: Mrs. Alexander
From: Taja Lee DC
Date: July, 10 2009
Subject: New Business Idea

Research indicates that high quality child care for young children directly affects the productivity of both the current and the future workforce. The benefits of daycare to businesses are advantageous, it improves productivity, reduces absenteeism, and cuts turnover. With on-site care, parents have less need to take time off because of child care emergencies, increasing attendance and productivity. During their lunch hour they will have the opportunity to spend time with their child. This will aid the overall morale of the employees. The daycare will work with the businesses inside the building to promulgate an open and closing time that everyone will gain from. This will allow the employees to work earlier and stay later due to a lot of the time constraints that other daycare services posses.

Good child care is an investment in the future workforce. It has been shown that more people and companies are more likely to invest in businesses with daycare services. When DigiFast decides to expand, this service will bring many new applicants.

The biggest obstacle would be; how the employees would be able to afford and pay the daycare service. With rising prices, parents face problems paying for daycare. With my program the employees will receive discounted prices for the daycare service and be able to set up an allotment to be deducted from their paycheck. DigiFast can also implement the Dependent Care Assistance Plan, or DECAP. Under this program DigiFast can reserve up to $5,000 of an employee's pay for the purchase of child-care services before that income is taxed.

In closing this memorandum reflects just a few of the many ideas that will be brought forth to the members of the committee. I feel confident that all businesses in the River View Plaza will be very successfully.
