Communication medium is broken down into two different categories the first is the physical media, which consist of in person large meeting, weekly meeting and up close and personal meeting. Physical media is communication where the person leading is in front of the audience, they can see the non-verbal body language. The second form of communication medium is the Mechanical media, which consist of e-mail, intranet, and social media. E-commerce businesses are now able to buy, sell, distribute, market, and service a wide variety of products and services over electronic system like the Internet and other computer network services. “The bar for e-commerce is rising every day: great visuals and free shipping are fast becoming commoditized. If product, price and service are the same, consumers will grow indifferent towards the seller” (Chen, 2012, p.2). The three inherent medium of communication in e-tailing are as follow is e-mail, websites, and loyalty programs.
In today’s business market, e-mail is the most deliberate approach of communication. It is a vital part of establishing a business relationship. With e-mails, organizations can easily send and receive information to their customers about their business. This type of medium is cost effective, available for any size business; customer’s problems can be resolved faster, “e-mail reduces geographic and time zone barriers for businesses. Employees or contractors from around the world can communicate, regardless of their location. Likewise, customers can send sales questions and support requests by email based on their own time zone schedules” (Acevendo, 2012, p.1).
