Final Project UNESCO Paper Axia College University of Phoenix Lisa White SCI 230 The diversity of life forms in the Salonga National Park includes some endangered species. The endangered species in the Salonga National Park are the Bonobo Chimpanzees, Large Gorillas and the Congo Peacock. There are also some other endangered animals like the Zaire Peafowl, the Forest Elephant and the African Slender-Snouted Crocodile. The park also has some large mammals like Elephants, Hippopotamuses, Bongos, Giant Ground Pangolin, Forest Buffalo, Alligators and Golden Cats. Then there are the small mammals like seven other Monkey species, Leopards, Brush Tailed Porcupine, Tree Hyrax and all different kinds of Fish. The diversity among the park is wide spread there are so many different life forms but for some time now the status, distribution and ecology of all the species in the Salonga National Park was unknown and this is still the case today. They know there is an account of presence of seven Monkey species and a few predators and they know there whereabouts. I believe the abundance and the diversity of the animals in the park is striking considering all the hunting pressures among the Salonga National Park. The biological interrelationshipsamong the life forms in the area are just like anywhere the certain animals get along and the others fight for survival. The studies of the Bonobo Chimpanzees show they hunt and kill other primates for survival. The Bonobo Chimpanzees are one of the most common Monkeys in the park and the Leopard and Golden Cat are in this park also and they are the Bonobo Chimpanzees predators. I think the life forms in the park do what they have to for survival. So where some of the animals eat plant life, fruits and other vegetation around the park the rest of the animals hunt for survival. The Human intrusions threatening the Salonga National Park are the breakdown of civil order in the Eastern part of the country has lead to attacks on the...
