The role, responsibilities and boundaries of a teacher are ever evolving qualities within the teacher which are then assessed and reflected upon using a range of teaching/training cycle; the cycle ranges from a cycle of assessment, planning and review.
I believe that the main role of a teacher is to assist in facilitating communication with learners in such a way that all the learners are encouraged to enter into a wider debate surrounding the leaner’s chosen topic.
In order to ensure that session aims and objectives are significant and relevant to learners the teaching role needs to incorporate ongoing administration and assessments.
As a teacher one would be required to identify any special needs that the learner may have. For example if I had learner in the class with special needs like dyslexia, I would need to identify how best I would be able to assist the learner, (I would therefore need find out which area they needed help with regarding their dyslexia, pink or yellow paper, or special equipment like the use of a laptop).
This could be assisted with a test paper at the beginning of a course (this information may be provided by the learning institute as it is a generic paper). This can therefore pinpoint any learner(s) who need/require extra help with basic literacy, math, and any other area of support that may be required in order to support the learner(s) fully in achieving their goals.
This will include assessing the different learning style within a group of learners as one type of learning methods does not apply to all and this will have to be taken into account when planning and designing the course curriculum.
