Robotics II

With today’s cutting technology and new discovers being made day by day, robotics play a major role in help us do so. With more and more of the machines being produced, the break down of how they operate is going to be very beneficial to us. So how does robotics tie to mathematics? Robotics abide by a series of mathematic equations to produce a valuable function. Let’s look at the different types of equations that allow these machines to function.

First, control theory is the underlying application oriented that deals with the analysis and design of control systems. This theory is based off the control of the machine as well as the influence of how the machine with move and operate in certain situations. For instance, sophisticated microprocessors are found in CD players, automobiles and, airplane autopilot controls. One can optimize the behavior of a machine in search of optimal control. When the use is uncertain of how the machine with produce in a certain environment would be called the feedback control.

Underwater vehicles are a noble example of this theory because these robots perform in areas of the ocean that are unobtainable for humans. These robots have help us explore depths of the oceans, keep an eye on oil lines, as well as playing a major role in underwater military missions, as far as underwater surveillance, mine finding and diffusion. The three types of under water vehicles are deep submersible vehicles,   remotely operated vehicles, and autonomous underwater vehicles.

Motion planning is also a major fraction of how robots perform as this part designs how the robot will execute its own motions in certain circumstances. This geometric formulation is known as the piano mover problem. This is where most of the math comes into generating a robot, as it is try to replace the basic instincts that we as people are able to perform that robots can not.

The next step to recognize in the building of a robot is configuring...
