Roal Of English In The Success Of One's Life
LAHORE: Students should learn English not only because it is an international language of communication but also because it has a greater collection of knowledge than any other language in the world, urged British Council Lahore Director Dr Iftikhar Elahi.
Speaking on the ‘importance of English language’ at a seminar titled “How to get good grades in Ordinary (O) and Advanced (A) levels”, Elahi said that hard work was the key to good grades in O and A levels of studies.

Elahi said all the research had been done in the English language and the need to learn the language had become all the more important in order to obtain the knowledge of human development.
He said Japan, China and Russia had made significant progress by learning the English language. “Currently the most popular subject in Japan and China is the English language,” he said. He said British councils all over the world were offering English language courses for adults. “We’ve stopped offering language courses in Pakistan for security reasons,” he added.
He urged the students to be clear about their long-term goals and choose subjects which they were inclined to. “As a student you should know what you want to become in life,” he added. He said about 18,000 students appear for O level examinations every year.
DHA APTECH Centre Chief Executive Shahid Nabi Malik said APTECH was the world’s largest Information Technology (IT) training corporation with 3,300 institutions worldwide. India alone has 1,500 APTECH institutions, he added.
“There is no short cut to success. One has to work hard and it is the surest way to success. Hard...
