I believe in Respect

The quality I admire most in a person is respect. I believe to respect a person it means no matter what their beliefs are, or what decisions they decide to make, always show them courtesy and never be judgmental in their decision making. We all need and deserve to be respected. To respect someone means to esteem or to honor them. Respect is a word that is often misunderstood. Many people think of respect as fear. Others find respect to be a form of submission. Respect is none of these things. Respect is not even properly defined by Webster. Respect is honesty, open and worthy honesty. Respect is understanding and acknowledging the rights of someone else to have their beliefs. Respect in some cases must first involve love.

They must show that they can be looked up to and deserved to be honored. No matter what I choose in life, or what I decide to do, even if it is wrong, she will always be there for me and that also shows respect. Without telling the truth, respect has no meaning, and therefore cannot exist. One with honor knows when to fight and when to run. Respect is a very important quality and I believe that every pledge should earn it before they cross. Esteem and honor are things that cause one person to respect another. There are some people that we do not like, but claim to respect. On a closing mark, respect holds no importance to a person unless they first respect themselves. One with honor has the ability to admit when they are wrong. Esteem is when someone is placed in high regard. You can not treat someone poorly, or disrespect them, and then expect that someone to have respect for you. One with honor keeps all promises, or practically dies trying. My mom showed me that respect is something very important to people, and even though she may not always agree with something or someone, always show them respect because everyone has their own views and opinions.
