First expectation, it is that young people think that after marriage they will be closer to each other, which means they will spend more time together, will have the same ideas and will be of one mind. They want to spend time together, having the same hobbies or dating such as going travelling, going to the movies and having dinner together in different restaurants. So, they expect that being a married couple they will have time to spend together without any obstacles and restriction. It is kind of romantic view of marriage. However, reality is different, and it shows us that is very difficult to sustain this romantic ideal for a lifetime. They could find unknown facts about their partners and some could be unpleasant. New truth about each other can bring to misunderstandings and different opinions. Sometimes marriage life is difficult in aspect of patience, because is not just taking care of yourself, but family. So, things such as devotion and obligation make them sick of being a family. Next, they don't want to spend much time together. They start to have different hobbies and interests.
Another expectation is that young people think that their partners will always meet all of their needs. Usually, it is happen in the early years of a romance when partners try to accommodate and satisfy each other's needs without any great effort and sacrifices. And this just in order to demonstrate how much they care and love their spouse. Often, it happen because young people fall prey to the feelings of love and could see only the good qualities of their partners. Also, it happen because each person tries to make the best impression about himself at the beginning of a relationship.
