Born in a village isolated by high mountains in east China's Zhejiang province, it is quite natural for me to become a mountain and rock-climbing lover. This challenging but full of achievement feeling activity developed my perseverance and resolution personality at the very beginning, and taught me how to confront difficulties like a true man. Compared with some prodigies, I am not a person born with numerous gifts, but I have never underestimate my power to change myself. Due to this particular reason, I often couldn't distinguish from competitors at first, but emulated most of them at last.
My interest in Civil Engineering can be traced back to my high school years. The blooming of our country's economy kindled a variety of construction projects. It also fired off my desire to engage in such kind of exciting careers. After several years of hard work, I got the highest scores in my school in the National University Entrance Examination and won acceptance into the department of Civil Engineering at University of Science and Technology, Beijing, a major cradle of China's scientific and technological talents, known for it's strict training programs.
After three years of intensive and extensive studies, I developed a solid academic background in my major and formed a clearer concept of Civil Engineering. In my opinion, the task of CE engineers and researchers is to court the needs and convenience of humanity. To achieve this goal, Sound structure is indispensable, because it plays a key role in every CE project. I cultivated valid skills in structure analysis and design through major courses, such as Structure Mechanics, Theories of Structure design, Concrete Structure, etc, and additional reading.
