Water Resource Center
The main thing I learned at the Water Resources Center was about water quality. I learned about Vancouver’s water quality and took a look at the 2007 Water Quality Report. According to instructors at the Resource Center, the water in Clark County is exceptionally clean and high above water quality standards. Something I never knew was that fluoride is in our water system. I had always wondered that because of dental reasons. Another surprising fact I learned from instructors at the Resource center was that Americans consume more bottled water than milk, beer, or coffee! In 2006, Americans spent $11 billion for 8.25 gallons of bottled water.
Water quality is important to science because humans depend on water. We drink water everyday, so if it isn’t clean we can’t safely drink it. If the water isn’t clean humans would pretty much die, no joke. Water businesses wouldn’t have costumers, humans couldn’t shower, and we wouldn’t be able to drink it.
With the information that I have learned I will informs others about it. I will tell others about water quality. This will make them check to see if the water always safe. I will also tell them that they don’t need to drink bottled water because tap water is perfectly fine. This will save all lot of money and resources. With this information I can refer people to the Water Resource Center to extend their educational levels.

Columbia Springs Center
I mainly learned about salmon from the Columbia Springs Education Center. Columbia Springs has a salmon hatchery that was built in 1939. They have about 70,000 Rainbow trout; 35,000 brown trout; and 10,000 coastal cutthroats. The salmon lay eggs from December to January, they release the baby fish to bigger ponds in March, and then they release them to catch able fish farms in June. So, I learned a lot about salmon life cycles and the Columbia springs hatchery. Columbia Springs also has a recycling program going on.
