My Past, Present and Future
In the past weeks, I had an opportunity to look back and analyze the events that have shaped my
Life. I will present a brief description of those events using the adult development theories from this class. I will look ahead to my future goals and accomplishments.
I grew up in small town in South Carolina called Salters; it was just like the small towns that we all have seen on television. It had the small shopping centers that were closed on Sundays so everyone could attend church services and did not serve any alcohol. The life there was easy going, the biggest jobs in this town were in the farming industry. Most people worked all day for less than minuim wage, but it was not like today where we have people trying to keep up with the Jones’s, it didn’t matter because everyone was trying to make it.
My family during this time in my life was just like any other family in the area. I grew up as the second to youngest in a family of seven. People in rural area were still having big families in order to work the land and have live in babysitters. My oldest brother by this time had moved out and started his own family, I remember growing up with nephews as playmates so there has never been an uncle type relationship which I think has made us a lot closer. My mom was the head of the family that made sure everything was fine; she held down a couple of part time...
