My Essay
I love to sleep on my time off. The curious and mysterious science of Alchemy has
stirred the imagination of many people throughout the ages.
In Alchemy everything is composed of three parts:
Sulpher (the soul or individualized essence), Mercury (the life
force), and salt (the physical body).
The art of Alchemy developed most of it’s most
fascinating ideas in the West. By combining ideas from Egypt,
Babylonia, Greece, Hebrew, China, and Arabia they were able to
finally develop the method to turn a base metal into gold. It is the work of the alchemist
to separate and recombine these three basic principles as often as
necessary until in prefect proportion and harmony with each other. China and India
both have highly developed laboratory alchemical traditions that
have been practiced very strictly since the beginnings.
Whether or not anyone has actually turned metal into gold is still a
challenging mystery to me. ed with being the home of alchemy, and
its god Thoth, or Hermes in his Greek incarnation, being the father
of Alchemy, other lands have contributed as well.
When these three principle’s are correctly mixed together with
another substance such as wine, water or something of that nature a
physical object or ‘stone’ is created to achieve the alchemy.
Alchemy (also known as Divine Chemistry) is the study of turning
regular old common metals into gold and achieving healthy long
lasting life. This chemistry started back in medieval times and has
been studied since. Today scientist’s that study alchemy are known
as alchemists, but back in medieval times they were known as
wizards, magic makers, sorcerers, ect.
