Atticus shows integrity when he is defending Tom Robinson in court. Tom was charged of raping a white woman Mayella Ewell. Judge Taylor and the jury men where all white people and were probably going to send Tom to jail. Atticus knows that Tom may not have a chance of being not guilty. Atticus tries his very best to defend tom to the best that he can and prove him not guilty. Mayella and her father bob make up a false story saying tom raped her but she really didn’t so he can be sent to jail. Tom ends up being put in jail for something that he didn’t do.Keep true, never be ashamed of doing right; decide on what you think is right and stick to it: George Eliot. Integrity is having honesty or sincerity. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee the characters all show integrity. The book is about 2 young white kids who live during a time of racism in their town and their father defends a black man in court against a white man. Atticus shows integrity when he is defending Tom in court, when he tells Helen that tom is dead, and when he thinks Jem killed bob Ewell.
