Maturity
During ?Through The Tunnel?, by Doris Lessing. There is an eleven-year-old boy named Jerry, who starts to develop independence, and certainties. Jerry is selfish and dependent on his mother in the beginning of the short story. Being immature Jerry and his mother goes to a beach and tells his mother that he wants to go to his beach down along the water, and not listening to his mother, but wants her to come with him and be with him. While Jerry is in the water he see children older then him and he wanted to play with them. But because jerry was younger and immature he did not fit in. He tired to act silly and get the kids attention by it.
Jerry starts to understand why the kids ignored him. He tries to fix his problems and starts to change. Jerry is going throw an evolution. He starts to be independent and mature. As a result into what?s happing Jerry starts to fit in and he start to be like by other people other then mother.
