Mastering A Skill

Many people do not have the skill of time management, including myself. This is a simple and effective skill all people would benefit from learning. A few people view time management as rules that involve setting goals, scheduling appointments, thoroughly planning, creating to-do lists, and prioritizing tasks. These skills are necessary, but time management also includes other basic skills such as decision-making, natural abilities such as emotional intelligence, and critical thinking.
Time management is needed to help a person be able to maintain a balance between work and family making them capable of responding to unexpected situations. A number of people, who practice time management, to the extent of prioritizing and setting goals, fail to grasp the need for a balanced life-style. Using time efficiently is beneficial to accomplishing tasks at hand and will aid in balancing the everyday responsibilities.
Stress is one consequence of inadequate time management. We are only given a certain number of hours in a day which is 24, what we do with this 24 hours is up to us. If we do not become skilled at how to manage our time it will cause stress in our lives. When we attempt to accomplish a multitude of tasks with out prioritizing chances are those tasks will not be completed on time, causing a person to feel frustrated. A person’s performance suffers when attempting to work in stressful conditions. When we do not confront stress related problems it can cause various effects on the physical body such as hypertension, fatigue, memory loss, anxiety, depression, diabetes, obesity, and even cancer in some instances.
Mastering the skills required to be a profitable time manager takes dedication, hard work, and applying the techniques. Time management is not just being busy, but doing everything essential in a more efficient way.
