1. Executive Summary The following material is based on research done on the General Motors Corporation and its specificmodel of Hummer-the H2. This report also gives a brief overview of the history of General Motors. This report involve some macro environment which is related to GM; besides, it also pinpoints the environmental, political, cultural, demographic, technological, andnatural forces that operate in the macro environment that influences the H2s sales success. Attention is paid to H2’s competitive market, and analysis about the threats and opportunities that exists in this market are specifically addressed. As a means of looking to the future of the H2, this report addresses GMs current strategies for taking this brand of SUV to a global market. In order to do this, however, it is obvious that the threats operating in the macro environmentsand within the GM Corporation have to be readily addressed. Therefore, I also offer some recommendations portion that I hope it may help. 2. Current Marketing Situation Gasoline merged to form Olds Motor Works. This company, which would grow and merge with other automobile companies over the course of the twentieth century to form what is now GM, has boasted some of the great automotive achievements of recent times. AM General's Hummer began in 1979 with competition for the development of a High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) to meet the Army's highest standards. Besides, AM General also supplies Hummers for use in heavy construction, mining, oil and gas The most predominant competitors of Hummer include the Jeep Commander and the are seven different civilian models available at more than 40 Hummer dealerships in the and Middle East.
