The paper examines the concept of geopolitics through various literatures. The paper starts with an examination of the impact of evolving global geopolitics on various sustainability issues including energy and climate change which have direct or indirect impact on ensuring sustainable livelihoods across the globe. The paper also discusses the impact of evolving geopolitical interface on global governance and development. Geopolitics happens to be the new synergistic philosophy, which has carved its own niche in the emerging global order, thereby bringing together the aspects of governance, sustainability and development on a common platform.
