Subject: Importance of the Types of Behavior Managers Exhibit
Coming Merger between InterClean, Inc. and EnviroTech
By now this team is aware of the coming merger between InterClean, Inc. and EnviroTech. With the merger I have several concerns that I would like to take the time to address. Those concerns include how a manager's behavior impacts the productivity of the workers, the types of management actions that are in line with the employment laws as well as those that are not, and some of the best practices for working in a diverse work environment.
How a Manager's Behavior Impacts Productivity
Many factors affect productivity in any business but the central most factor is the attitude of the supervisor. Suitable management behavior helps develop a rewarding work environment that encourages high productivity. "Unmanaged or destructive behavior of a manager can turn the best job into a miserable oneâ (Shelar, 2008 p. 3). Overall, our attitudes as managers during coming changes will either make the workplace happy or miserable. So, the supervisory team must establish a positive attitude in the workplace. A positive attitude will serve to build a feeling of trust and safety in the work environment which will translate in to increased productivity. During the coming merger employees may lose their creativity or productivity. If this loss occurs, I believe the management team will need to engage the employees in a positive manner to bring back the necessary levels of productivity to make the merger a smooth transition time.
The cost of mismanaging behavior or poor behavior from the management team can be measured in both direct and indirect ways.
