Learning Styles There Is No One Best Way To Learn

No matter how we are taught by our teachers, each of us have our own way of learning styles, our own way of processing information and acquire a unique style to gain knowledge. Hence, individuals perceive and process information in very different ways. Therefore in this assignment I am going to highlight on learning styles and how it vary form person to person.

Leaning styles differ depending on the environment, state of mind of the learner, health condition, etc. "Once students are actively engaged in their own learning process they begin to feel empowered and their personal achievement and self-direction levels rise." (Dewar & Hartman, 1995). The education literature suggests that students who are actively engaged in the learning process will be more likely to achieve success.

"Learning behaviours fall into three domains: cognitive, psychomotor, and affective". (Avery, 2002). The cognitive domain deals with intellectual abilities. The psychomotor domain includes physical or motor skills. The affective domain involves expression of feeling about attitudes, interests, and values. Most learning involves all three domains.

"Learning styles are simply different approaches or ways of learning" (reference,..). This means the way in which individual learners tries to learn is different from each others. It includes how they approach learning, experience learning and utilize information.

As the world is developing using technology it is said that the students learn better using multimedia. This means using visual and auditory senses. Though, this is the claim, we have evidence that there is no a unique style for learning. The styles vary depending on the environment and the facilities available. When some people get information from CD and DVDs, others surf the net to get knowledge.
