Learning To Make A Difference

Every four years there is a presidential election. Next November, 2008, is when the next election will be held. Personally, I am a republican, and therefore I would like to see a new republican to keep the title of being the President of the United States. I am also a person who enjoys helping others and seeing them happy, this meaning I would like to see the future president strive for this as well. Reading about the candidates running for future president I decided that I liked Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas Governor, the greatest.
Huckabee stated that when Hurricane Katrina hit one of his “proudest moments came in seeing the huge outpouring of love and compassion from citizens” of his state. Huckabee, a former pastor and denominational leader (This meaning he lead a large group of religious congregations that united under a common faith and name and organized under a single administrative and legal hierarchy.), shows that he enjoys to see others uniting together to help one another out.
“I believe that every child should have the opportunity for a quality education that teaches the fundamental skills needed to compete in a global economy.” said Huckabee. For a national service he would like to enforce that education is given to everybody because according to him “Our future economy depends on a creative generation.”
If Huckabee was to win the election and did indeed become the President of the United States to help institute his national policy I would do a number of things. First I would need to get the teachers, schools, and most of all the citizens (such as the parents and guardians) to help us to promote this project and get it “up and running”. These people, if they were the teachers or incorporated with the school system would need to work hard and try to teach as many children as they possibly could. They would need to help make these children understand fundamentals and maybe even help them to learn major life skills. The citizens, such as the...
