ANIMAL SHELTER MANAGER *
REPORTS TO: CHIEF OF POLICE Oversee the enforcement of animal related city, state, and federal codes. Educate the public. Maintain efficient operation of the animal shelter. Attempt to reunite animals with their owners. Place pets in permanent, caring homes. Facilitate a quick, humane death for unwanted animals. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to City of Ellensburg operational policies, safety rules, and procedures. Complete reports, schedules, billings, and vet payments Account for vet services and adoption balances Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment Maintain and compile impound figures for monthly and yearly reports Stay updated on state and national trends in animal sheltering and animal control Monitor inventory of Legend drugs used for euthanasia and chemical capture and maintain Legend drug records in a manner consistent with DEA and Washington State Board of Pharmacy requirements Handle disputes or complaints from the public and work effectively with irate, emotional, and demanding persons Maintain and/or provide for maintenance of shelter facility, furniture and fixtures Supervise employees and delegate work assignments Assist in personnel selection process; monitor...
