Most people feel obligated to date within their own race; but there are people who are able to find compatibility outside of their own race and thus we have interracial relationships. The word interracial stems from two words, inter; meaning, between or to come between, and racial; meaning, of or related to genetically distinguished groups of people. Although “Interracial relationship” cannot be found in an English dictionary, the word “Miscegenation” is in its place. Miscegenation; the "mixing" of different "race", that are marrying, cohabiting, having sexual relations and having children with a partner from outside of one's culturally defined social group. An Interracial Marriage; occurs when two people of differing racial groups marry. This is a form of exogamy (marrying outside of one's social group) and can be seen in the broader context of miscegenation (mixing of different racial groups in marriage, cohabitation, or sexual relations).   In addition to the definition given on interracial relationships, I will also be speaking on the controversies of the laws permitted during that time span and after its abolishment.   The increase of interracial relationship with each decade reveals societies.   And lastly growing acceptance   and   comfort level with the issue.
