Human Population Cause And Effect
*TITLE : HUMAN POPULATION*GROWTH CAUSES/EFFECTS *NAME : HENDRA YU* TONSA TONDANG CLASS : PM 110 STUDENT NO.: 089124066 During the history of the world, human population has undergone an increase in levels of welfare, social, economic, technology and also the number of it. Nowadays, the growth rate of human population has reached a dangerous level. World population had reached 3 billion in 1960 then climbed sharply to 5 billion in 1987 and then grew rapidly in 1999 to 6 billion (Arthur H. and Thomas T. K., 2004). In the middle of 2008 it has increased to 6.5 billion (Population Reference Bureau, 2008). The trend may be resulted from both high rate of birth and low rate of mortality then consequently, people face some effects. In addition to the high rate of birth, mortality is also the major factor on an increase of human population. It has three major aspects such as the increasing levels and technology of health and medicine, quality of foods and government’s policies. First, the result of intensive medical research has led to an increase of possibility in healing some heavy diseases which hold high rate of death. For example, cancer can be cured by chemotherapy treatment today. Professional Advisory Board (16 July 2008) said that Chemotherapy is effective against cancer cells because the drugs love to interfere with rapidly dividing cells and it works by stopping the growth or multiplication of cancer cells, thereby killing them. Furthermore, the quality of food can maintain the immunity of human body by acting against viruses, bacteria and germs. For instance, curcumin (_diferuloymethane_) as component of curcuma has function to boost up immunity system of human body (Anderson Cancer Centre, 2007). Moreover, government policies have reduced successfully the number of deaths in traffic accidents by applying strictly traffic regulations.
