Global Warming

Do you know why temperature is getting hotter? It is because of global warming. One of the biggest problems facing the world today is global warming. Global warming is caused by high levels of carbon dioxide and other gases in the atmosphere. Global warming is sometimes referred to as the greenhouse effect. Many experts believe that our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is heating the atmosphere and this could be very dangerous for human life. Global warming is already affecting the world, endangering polar bears, shortening ski seasons and creating more intense storms. As you know, global warming is the gradual rise of the earth temperature. Due to the detrimental effects of global warming individual people need to change their behavior. This essay will explore main causes and effects of global warming and recommend how to deal with it.

The main human activities that contribute to global warming are burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil, natural gas and clearing land. Burning of fossil fuels create carbon dioxide(CO2) which absorb the radiation energy from the sun and cover the earth causing higher temperature of the earth. Clearing of land contribute to a buildup of CO2 cutting trees and other plants which remove CO2 from the air. In addition, there are more greenhouse gases that cause the global warming like water vapor, carbon dioxide (CO2), methane and ozone.

Global warming would rise earth temperature from about 3℃ to 5℃ and which make glaciers and ice caps melt. Consequently sea levels would rise at least 25 meters by the year 2100 influencing low-lying area, coastal wetland, islands. Warmer temperatures could increase the probability of drought, the risk of wildfires, heavier rainfall in some areas. More frequent and severe heatwave would result in a number of heat-related deaths. Hotter conditions could also give air pollution allergies and breathing-related symptom. Increasing temperatures would disrupt ecosystem and a lot...
