Following Orders
I am writing this essay on why its important to follow orders. I failed to follow an order from my sergeant, and the punishment was to write this two page essay on why it is important to follow orders. I thought of seven reasons for me to follow orders and wrote a paragraph for each.
The first reason is: It is the law. I signed for six years of military service and swore an oath to follow all lawful orders given to me. Most likely in this case it could have been an LOC (Letter of Council) or an LOR (Letter of Reprimand) which can stack with other similar charges into a bigger punishment such as an article 15. Another reason to follow orders is that job safety is often compromised when people do not follow written or verbal guidelines or orders. It often leads to people getting injured on the job which takes away from productivity for the military along with possibly killing/rendering useless the person that was injured. Superior members of the military have more training in the job and therefore are meant to pass on that knowledge and safety...
