Personal Writing: The Catcher in the Rye

I wouldn't be able to have Holden as a friend because I don't think that we would get along very well. He does a lot of things that I would never consider doing, like getting expelled from school and then running away from the school and spending the night at some hotel. He also complains a lot and that can really get annoying. I don't really like people that complain about everyone and everything that has happened to them.

Also I don't really think that I could be friends with him because he really doesn't care about anyone but himself and that can get really annoying after a while. He doesn't worry about how his parents will be really worried about him if he runs away and he doesn't care about what he says to other people. He can also be very rude towards people that he thinks are his friends.

Holden seems like he could be a nice kid at times but being his friend would be very hard for me to do. I don't think that he is necessarily a bad person but he has a lot of things to work on before I would ever consider him a friend of mine. Holden has a lot of growing up to do and until he does that I don't think that many people will want to be friends with him.
