Abstract
FedEx - Can You See the Symbol?
Have you seen the FedEx logo and know its meaning? Many people know the logo and the services FedEx provides to consumers, companies and organizations. So often just seeing the logo does not always mean you see what the logo represents. There is a symbol within the logo and by the end of this research paper the symbol will be known. But will you see the symbol within the logo? The logo has not changed over the years and for many people the hidden symbol still cannot be seen.
The logo also helps as long as it is one that people remember or can identify. Logos are designs that are used to stand for and help reinforce the identity of a corporation or other entity. (Berger, 2008) The vibrate colors of purple and orange; and of purple and aqua; and purple and gray; and purple and lime green are very pleasing to one’s eyes and memorable. Color and balance, shapes and lines make up this logo as the exploration begins.
FedEx is your single source for time sensitive and time deferred package, document and freight transportation services internationally. (FedEx website) To become an international company takes time, imagination, medium, communication, and thinking outside the box. Once seeing the symbol within the logo thinking outside the box is significant.
FedEx uses three different colors on the EX which represents three areas of services. The main color use to be purple and orange is the original colors and used for all departments until the three additional colors were created. The purple and gray now represents all departments and can be seen on each webpage at the FedEx site. Purple and orange is one most people know the best.
