Faith

Faith, Microsoft Encarta 97's dictionary explanation is "Confident belief or trust in a person, idea, or thing". My favorite definition of faith is believing in something you cannot see. We all have faith in many things a day, for instance you have faith that when you get in your car and turn the key your car will start. You have faith when you sit down that the chair will not collapse under you. I'm sure that you can think of many times in which you have had faith and it was well founded. You are able to find a definition of faith anywhere you look, a dictionary, an encyclopedia, even some magazines have done articles on faith. I have found that although you can find a definition in all of these places, the best definition is in the Bible. Hebrews 11:1 states "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." Reading this verse changed my whole perspective on what faith means.
