An Experience I Will Never Forget

An Experience I Will Never Forget On the first day of school, the same question was always asked, "How was your summer?" Every time I would answer the same way, "Alright I guess." However, my summer after eleventh grade was more than alright. Not only did it include difficult summer school classes to enrich my high school transcript, but a trip to the east coast that history students can only dream of.

It was an eleven day trip that involved four different cities on the east coast of the United States of America and Canada, a part of the world yet to be explored by my family and me. The first destination was Washington D.C., perhaps one of the most historic cities in the world. During our three day stay in this city, we were able to visit many historic land marks such as the Supreme Court, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the Library of Congress, the White House, and the Vietnam Memorial. I especially enjoyed the visit to the Supreme Court because in eleventh grade I had taken United States History AP and studied many different court cases such as Marbury v. Madison and Dred Scott v. Sanford that have shaped our judicial system to what it is today. The experience of actually seeing where the court hearings took place was phenomenal. After three exciting days of Washington D.C. We changed our focus to New York and headed north.

New York had taken us by surprise because of the sheer volume of people. If there was one city you should not buy a car in, it would be this one. During our three day stay in New York we were able to visit the Statue of Liberty, the World Trade Center site, Central Park, Time Square, Wall Street, and the Empire State Building.
