Ethics Awareness Inventory Analysis
The purpose of this paper is to prepare an analysis of the Ethics Awareness Inventory. This paper will give an interpretation of the results and apply these results to personal and professional development. This paper will also include a statement explaining the impact on ethical thinking based on educational experience. This analysis will address the use of ethics in thinking and decision-making and a personal potential for conflict in situations with other people who have different interpretations of ethical behavior.
C.O.R.E.
The ethics awareness inventory is used to measure an individual’s perspective by measuring the answers given which measure the general views and approaches in regard to ethical debates. “The keyword for each category is character, obligation, results, and equity.” (University of Phoenix, 2003, ¶ 2) Personal ethical perspectives are mostly based on results and least likely based on character. From a professional aspect the results usually come from the lowest ranking in the office. In the military, based on rank alone, the higher ranking would not expect a specialist to produce good quality of work, without being reviewed by the supervisor. Working with the same company for three years and sharing personal knowledge has given me a recent promotion and more correspondence freedom. Coming from a large family with nine children has given me better insight when it comes to raising my own children. The golden rule is to never blame one child all the time if all the facts are not present.
Educational Experience
In my very first class at the University of Phoenix, I was placed in an ethical dilemma. Because this was the very first class with new people; many students in the class based their decision on breaking up into teams by ethnicity and appearance.
