Ethics Awareness
University of Phoenix has provided students with Williams Institute Ethics Awareness inventory self assessment to help establish the students ethical perspective. Kudler Fine Foods a perspective employer has provided a strategic plan about their organization to help the student get an idea of the ethics of this organization. I can use this evaluation and strategic plan to identify my values and the values of Kudler Fine Foods, identify how my values align with Kudler Fine Foods, and how this would affect my performance if I were a manager there.
Ethics Evaluation/Strategic Plan
As our economy is moving and changing students need to meet with rapidly changing expectations of employers and society. Preparing for managers position does not only mean preparing ourselves technically but it also includes the value system students uphold when they need to make ethical decisions relating to people, products, prices, and profits. Therefore, Perspective employers and employees should not overlook the importance of ethics and values related to the work environment. After taking the Williams Institute ethics awareness inventory self assessment I have found that my ethical perspective is primarily obligation. According to the Williams Institute ethics awareness inventory self assessment, I tend to “base my ethical perspective on an individual’s duty or obligation to do what is morally right” (Williams Institute ethics awareness inventory self assessment, 2008). I believe that all people have the right to respect. Challenges may also occur with my ethical perspective. One of the challenges I may face as a manager would be “defending my ethical perspective may result in economic hardship, such as loss of promotion or termination” (Williams Institute ethics awareness inventory self assessment, 2008).
