Effects Of Technology
Have you pulled your car up to the gas pump lately and been shocked by high gasoline prices? Many technological changes have effected life in this country. The largest one being the technological change in transportation. Planes, trains , automobiles you name it! Motorized transport and aircraft have made rapid technological changes over the past 100 years. In this short essay I will describe how these methods of transportation display technological change and have impacted life in this country.
Motorized transport has evolved drastically. The technological change of the hybrid car has been evolved. A hybrid car is a vehicle that uses two or more distinct power sources to move the vehicle. The power sources used in hybrids range from rechargeable energy storage system, hydrogen, gasoline/diesel fuel and solar power. Advances in technology and lowered battery cost and higher capacity developed in the hybrid car industry are already filtering into truck use such as hybrid SUV’s. To aide in the technological change in motorized transport there is soon to a rise in the plug-in-electric-vehicle! It is becoming more and more popular. It has the distance that we need in America and other locations with wide expanses with no services. You can plug in and charge the batteries as well as charge them when your on the go from the engine.
Aircraft transportation has become a more frequent way of transport. Due to the recent rapid rise in gas prices it has become more cost effective too! The change and evolution of the airplane has made traveling long distance convenient. In western years, long distance transporting was literally long distance transport. It would take days, weeks even months to travel from one place to anther. No longer are we using horse drawn wagons or taking voyages, we are can now travel over seas in a matter of hours!
