Are Educated People Happy

Are Educated People Happy?

Education is now essential to one's future career. People all over the world are seeking more and more knowledge every day. In consequence, parents do their outmost to give their children a proper education, no matter how difficult their circumstances may be.

Education does not merely consist in infusing knowledge, but it's mental and moral training is the great consequences.

Although ignorant people seem to live a more serene and happy life than those who are educated, I still believe that the latter ones are happier. They are taught about the world and its inhabitants. Thus they will learn to respect everyone. By learning about Nature, they can find out what are the uses of plants and animals to man. In this way, cures for diseases and illness are obtained. If a sick person is cured, both the patient and those who had found the cure will be happier.

There is also the moral side of education. People are taught that honesty is better than cheating, and that doing good is a virtue, while doing evil and harming others is a crime. In other words, in a society where the citizens are educated, there is more law and order, and so, if the community is in order, the citizens will be happier.

Educated people know what danger is, and worry about the destruction of civilization and humankind by a nuclear war. The uneducated ones will not know the danger of bombs and nuclear war, so they are free from a constant feeling of uneasiness. They will always use the tools and other implements handed down for generations, and although it seems strange, some would rather remain ignorant.

Therefore, there are both sides of the matter to consider, and there are both advantages and disadvantages of being educated or ignorant.
