Weapons of mass Destruction, when first heard in a conversation or seen on the news, ones first thought is the war on terror and Iraq/Afghanistan. Yet there is one such weapon in our every day life. This object can be used as a tool of good or in its absolute a weapon of death and uncaring. This such weapon is the automobile. As with all inventions of our day, no one plans producing a weapon of such magnitude. With the increasing numbers of automobile owners and drivers comes the countless accidents and unlawful behavior. So with this decreasing of automobile owner awareness comes the need of regulation and laws, Yet only so much can be done to prevent any thing of the sort of happening. There are countless examples, in which poor decision making and the lack of responsibility that cause death and lose of love ones. Most or even all such incidents can be avoided with precautions. Drunk driving or driving under the influence is perhaps the worst of the things you could do on the road.
Drunk driving is considered a serious offence in every State. It is wrong, irresponsible and wastes many lives. People who abuse alcohol hurt everyone around them, endanger public safety, and create havoc on the roads. There is nothing positive that can come out of drunk driving, so why do people do it? I personally do not know why people do it, but it is society's job to punish these menaces and try to take control of this issue. The United States doesn't want to watch idly as hundreds of people are killed each day. We want to take a stand and let the world know that we do not tolerate driving drunk. What should be done about this problem is debatable and certainly open to discussion. We need to send the message that it is not acceptable, or is it natural to drive under any influence of alcohol.
