Diabetes And Pregnancy

The article, Ask Dr. Sears: Diabetes and Pregnancy, tells of a woman who questions Dr. William Sears about having diabetes during pregnancy. She asked Dr. Sears if there was anything at all that she should be anxious regarding her condition. The doctor answered that there is a range of women with diabetes that have undergone vigorous pregnancies and produced robust infants. He then suggests and advised her to acquire a variety of safety measures such as keeping her blood sugar at a constant level, consume the proper carbs and avoid the wrong carbs, take in additional protein and fiber, consume slighter and further serving of food, and abstain from factory – processed oils which leads to obesity.

The reason why I was motivated to choose this editorial was because I have an aunt that has diabetes and she is pregnant. She is awfully worried about her physical state and her baby. This article helps me to approach my aunt and support her. I could guide her on healthy tips so she can maintain healthy and deliver a hale and hearty baby. I reasoned that this article would be very influential and beneficial to diabetic moms. They can learn more about having a well and fit pregnancy along with delivering a strong as well as healthy child.

The article demonstrates and proves a point that mothers with diabetes with their babies have a higher risk of medical dilemmas. The better they take good care of themselves, the larger their chances of having a compensatory pregnancy. This article gives diabetic moms a chance to gain more knowledge about giving birth. However, Dr. Sears' health instructions are not just for diabetic pregnant women, but for all pregnant women. The doctor recommends and confirms that every pregnant woman should pursue his health tip for their own prosperity and their baby.
