It is very natural for man to have mathematical mind. For the capacity to correlate, compare and observe are inborn in him.
All sciences or art are based on mathematics as a science. We see that numbers rule us in all fields- be it cooking, dancing, music or astronomy. Since the numbers are the essence of mathematics, we see that it is an item of human culture. Mathematics is an umbrella with various aspects. Numbers are a part of everything, as everything needs a good understanding of numbers. Arithmetic is a simple branch of mathematics. It has to do with calculations that we make in everyday life. Many calculations can be done with basic four actions that is addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It also includes more complex actions which are made from the four basic actions, such as rising to the power, which is done with many multiplications. Arithmetic is also the main part of number theory which deals with relations between numbers. For example- Which number is divisible by another (the other can be multiplied by something to give the first). Arithmetic is the basis of all calculation in all branches of mathematics. All sciences or arts are based on mathematics as science. Mathematics is very abstract in nature. It is full of numbers and symbols which are nice pieces of artwork if not learnt in context.
