Human beings take in information and process through their own system of understanding. Throughout our lives we will go through the processes of opening to new information, integrating it, and stabilizing our worldview. Remaining open allows individuals to continually change and shift by checking in with ourselves when learning new information. Opinions are intensely personal, so it is understandable that people have strong feeling about theirs. Everyone has the right to his or her opinion. No one can hope to be a good thinker without acquiring a mature understanding of the nature of opinion.
“It is Human Nature to be Greedy”
Today because of the standard of living materialism provides those who follow the idea that some is good, more is better, too much is just right, and much of the world goes for the gold. Greed is selfish excessive or uncontrolled desire for a pursuit of money, wealth, food or other possessions (Wikipedia 2007). Another definition for greed an excessive desire for resources, and in basic terms excessive means possessing something to such a degree it is harmful. Greed for food or drink, combined with excessive indulgence in them, is called gluttony. People are overweight due to greediness and gluttony, and excess weight is harmful. Alcoholics drink alcohol in excess and it is harmful to them.
When talking about greed, humans tend to always want more. Its human nature to be greedy, because greed is the extreme form of this desire, especially where one desires things simply for the sake of owning them. Most people are possessive and hoard more than they give. Greed is taught and also inherited, because individuals are always trying to keep up with the Joneses.
