The Civil Rights Movement
There were many steps in the Civil Rights Movement.
One of them was the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The Montgomery Bus Boycott officially started on December 1, 1955. This when African- Americans in Montgomery,Alabama decided to boycott the city buses until they could sit anywhere they wanted, instead of having to sit in the back. Three major people who had a big part in the Montgomery Bus Boycott were Rosa Parks,Professor Jo Ann Robinson,and Vernon Johns, but probably the most important was Rosa Parks. After she paid her bus fair she sat in the front of the bus. Then a white man came and wanted to sit there. Rosa Parks would not move even though she was threatened,by the driver,of getting arrested. She was arrested but this sparked others. Another step in the Civil Rights Movement were sit-ins. On Febuary 1, 1960 four African-American college students purchased some school supplies, then went to the the lunch counter and asked to be served.
