Career Goal and Learning Plan
My overall plan for career success is to get my Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. Originally I had a goal of getting my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and being done with school. After giving it much thought I decided to further my education and the University of Phoenix seemed like the best place to accomplish that. I am planning on doing a lot of thought over the next year and deciding what I am going to do with my degree from University of Phoenix.
Personal Career Goals
When I initially planned to go back to school and major in Psychology I wanted to become a counselor. After giving it much thought, I realized that I would rather use my degree to work for a charity. I volunteered for a year on a helpline at a charity called Project Concern. People would call and tell me they had no place to sleep for the night or they were feeling depressed or whatever the problem may have been. I would help them as best as I could. Working on this helpline made me realize how many people out there need help and I would love to be able to help them. Another idea I have toyed with is opening some charity for families of children who need surgeries and cannot afford them. No matter what I decide to do, I know I really want to make a difference in some way.
According to the Multiple Pathways to Learning and the Personality Spectrum, I should have considered majoring in Psychology, Sociology, English, Finance, Liberal Arts, Biology, Computer Science, or Economics. Finance and Economics are out because I am terrible at math. Biology is out because I have no interest in Science.
