CAPITAL PUNISHMENT!! RIGHT OR WRONG??
Capital punishment, the death penalty or execution, is the killing of a person by judicial process. Crimes that can result in a death penalty are known as capital crimes. Capital punishment has been practiced in virtually every society, excluding those with state religious proscriptions against it. It is a matter of active controversy in various states, and positions can vary within a cultural region. The state clearly has no absolute right to put its subjects to death although, of course, almost all countries do so in some form or other (but not necessarily by some conventional form of capital punishment). In most countries, it is by arming their police forces and accepting the fact that people will from time to time be shot as a result.
Those who support capital punishment say first of all, capital punishment permanently removes the worst criminals from society and should prove much safer for the rest of us than long term or permanent incarceration. It is self evident that dead criminals cannot commit any further crimes, either within prison or after escaping or being released from it. If by chance the criminal is released from the prison because of good behaviour, there is no guarantee that he will not go after the person because of whom he was sentenced lifetime prison.
Secondly, execution is a very real punishment rather than some form of "rehabilitative" treatment, the criminal is made to suffer in proportion to the offence. Although whether there is a place in a modern society for the old fashioned principal of an eye for an eye, is a matter of personal opinion. Retribution is also seen by many as an acceptable reason for the death penalty.
Finally, if a criminal knows that he will be released from prison for his good behaviour after some years, the criminal would pretend that he has changed. The criminal will again take on the streets and there are a lot of chances that he repeats the same crime
