A Carnival of American Teen Movies
The American teen movies are holding a big carnival at the right moment. With the help of the Internet and multimedia, American teen movies sweep around the globe, gaining as much popularity as they can among folks of different ages.
Apparently, American teen movies are of huge success, sowing the seeds of American culture over the world, telling stories of the U.S. youth’s life and expressing something provocative in a funny and easy way and in the exact American style. That is the American teen movie. Watching an American teen movie is a seriously enjoyable experience, for it gives a very vivid portrait of the daily life, reflects the innermost emotion between people and easily resonates with the audiences. In my point of view, that is the essence and the glamour of the American teen movie, its kinship.
Directors put everything in daily life to the screen of the American teen movie. Three topics, namely family relation, peer relation and inspiration, are considered as the main theme of it all the time. Here, in this short essay, I would like to talk about these three topics and recommend some funny, good and typical American teen movies to you.
Let’s start with the family relation first. I pick an especially outstanding movie on this topic that is the Freaky Friday. In this movie, Anna, acted by Lindsay Lohan, is a super fan of rock music and rebellious high schoolgirl, who doesn’t do well in school and just go the opposite way against her mother, a busy psychotherapist and going to remarry after three years her husband died. They don’t get along well with each other and quarrel a lot. The mother thinks what she does is good for Anna and the daughter just wants freedom that a high school student should possess.
