Canadaian Constituion Fundamental Freedoms

All Canadians enjoy certain rights based on Canada's tradition of democracy and respect for human dignity and freedom. These rights and freedoms are found in Canada's Human Rights Codes and in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom. This essay however only talks about the freedom of speech, freedom of employment, freedom of mobility, and the freedom of association.

Before one begins to study any of these topics, one must understand that Canada has a democratic government and a constitutional monarchy. A democracy includes free and fair elections, multiparty systems, freedom of expression, political accountability, an independent and active civil society, independent judicial and legislative systems, respect for the rule of law, control of the military by civilian authority, and a full recognition of all human rights, including minority rights and equality of rights in accordance with the Vienna Declaration.

A constitutional monarchy includes a prime minister and a head of the country. The Head of the Country is not the person who controls the government but he/she is a figure that everyone acknowledges (knows) and respects. The Head of our Country is the queen of England, Elizabeth Alexandra Mary. The person who actually looks after everything is the Prime Minister, Paul Martin. He is the one who gets to make the laws (only after the cabinet and the governor general agrees). Even though he is the one who has the upper hand the public of Canada controls the country.

Freedom involves balancing the risk that there will always be some individual (s) who abuse of it with the understanding that the surroundings of freedom where the most valuable aspect is the social condition of a community. Otherwise, we'll always have tyranny, which guarantees cruelty or domination for everyone under the excuse of protecting certain interest groups.
